30 hours of approved continuing education per 2-year cycle under 17 DCMR §4806.4 (licenses expiring 12/31/2018 and later; amended by final rulemaking 63 DCR 13109, 10/21/2016): includes 3 hours communicable disease (including HIV-AIDS), 2 hours LGBTQ cultural competence, and 5 hours in any combination of ethics, risk management, documentation and record keeping, or cultural competency. Does not apply to an initial license by examination or the first renewal of a license granted by examination (17 DCMR §4806.2).
