Details

Alabama requires 18 board-approved CE hours per year for renewal, measured Oct 1–Sep 30, with 2 hours yearly in regulation/compliance (in-person for in-state practitioners starting Oct 1, 2026). New licensees have extra one-time requirements: 4 hours of regulation/compliance in the renewal year after initial licensure (post-2011 licensees) and one full-agenda Board meeting in the first year of practice (post-2025 licensees). No more than one-third of hours may be distance-based absent an emergency declaration.
