National requirement via the CFP Board, not state-issued: 40 CE hours every two years (38h general CE + 2h CFP Board Ethics CE) applying to reporting periods beginning Q1 2027, uniformly to all certificants, new and existing (CFP Board "Setting the Course," announced 2026-01-27). Up to 5h of the 40h may focus on Practice Management; up to 10 excess CE hours may carry over to the next two-year cycle (Ethics CE ineligible); CFP Board may designate mandatory topics; new-professional hours are prorated.
