Renewal: Every chiropractic physician must apply to the Board for certification of triennial registration of continuing education on or before October 30 of every third year, covering hours completed in the 3-year period preceding recertification (216-RICR-40-05-17 §17.6.2). Renewal applications are filed during the month of October.

Licensee self-certifies completion to the Board; must retain documentation of each learning experience for at least 2 years from license renewal and is subject to random audit by the Department.

Rhode Island requires 60 hours of CE every 3 years, due October 30 of every third year per 216-RICR-40-05-17. No less than 50 hours must be clinically-related and at least 30 hours must be live didactic instruction with direct faculty-participant interaction. The Board may designate specific practice-area or content-area coursework for a given cycle with advance notice. UNCONFIRMED: a new-licensee exemption for the initial triennial cycle is reported by CE providers but was not found in the official rule text reviewed.
