Renewal: Annual renewal: the 12-month license period expires on the last day of the licensee's birth month. All CE must be completed before renewing; renewal notices are emailed about 45 days before the renewal date.

Details

Reporting
Attest to CE completion on the renewal affidavit; keep records to support the attestation. The Board does not pre-approve CE programs (licensee's responsibility to match subject matter to the rules) and maintains a list of disapproved courses.
Grace period
30-day grace period after expiration during which the licensee may continue practicing; $150 late penalty added for each week late. A licensee who has not renewed by the end of the grace period must stop practicing; failure to renew within 12 months results in forfeiture and the person must reapply for licensure.

Oregon chiropractors renew annually on the last day of their birth month. Regular active licensees complete 20 CE hours per year (2 cultural competency, 1 suicide intervention training, 17 general). First-year initial licensees complete 8 hours in specified topics (4 OTC substances, 2 evidence-based medicine, 1 cultural competency, 1 suicide intervention); second-year active licensees complete 20 hours including 7 hours of pain management education. Senior active status (age 60+ with 25+ years of active practice) requires 6 hours annually. Inactive licensees have no CE requirement. (OAR 811-015-0025, 811-010-0086)
