30 board-approved hours per 2-year cycle (R 338.12037/12041), including at least 1 hour pain and symptom management (MCL 333.16431), 1 hour sexual boundaries, 1 hour ethics, and 2 hours physical measures. Implicit-bias training (2 hours per cycle for health professionals) counts within the 30. No more than 12 hours in any 24-hour period; CE documents must be retained 4 years; the department audits at the conclusion of the renewal period. UNCONFIRMED: a May 2025 rule amendment reportedly eliminated the 2-hour performing-and-ordering-tests requirement and raised the online/distance allowance from 15 to 20 hours (minimum 10 in-person) — the official rule text reviewed still reflects the prior version, so the in-person minimum and test-ordering requirement should be re-verified.
