Verified on the official LSBN CE FAQ page. The biennial cycle lands on even-numbered years per LSBN's 2024 APRN renewal materials (renewal season opens October 1). UNCONFIRMED: secondary sources report a one-time 3-hour CDS education requirement for APRNs holding a CDS license at first renewal — not found in the official LSBN CE FAQs. APRNs must renew both their Louisiana RN and APRN licenses biennially (initially issued licenses are calendar-year licenses; subsequent renewals biennial). Nationally board-certified APRNs satisfy the RN renewal provisions by holding approved certification -- no separate RN CE. The pharmacotherapeutics requirement applies only to APRNs with prescriptive authority (LAC XLVII.4513); grandfathered APRNs without advanced-practice certification follow LAC 4507.E commensurate requirements.
