UNCONFIRMED: secondary sources report a one-time 3-hour CDS education requirement for APRNs holding a CDS license at first renewal — not found in the official LSBN CE FAQs. APRNs must renew both their Louisiana RN and APRN licenses biennially (initially issued licenses are calendar-year licenses; subsequent renewals biennial). Nationally board-certified APRNs satisfy the RN renewal provisions by holding approved certification -- no separate RN CE. The pharmacotherapeutics requirement applies only to APRNs with prescriptive authority (LAC XLVII.4513); grandfathered APRNs without advanced-practice certification follow LAC 4507.E commensurate requirements.
