Georgia has a CRNA-specific renewal rule: biennial renewal of Board authorization to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist requires a completed renewal application, a copy of current NBCRNA national certification/recertification, and the renewal fee (Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 410-11-.04). The CRNA-specific rule imposes no separate state CE-hour requirement: current NBCRNA certification/recertification is itself the competency mechanism for renewal. (The underlying RN license renews under the general five-option continuing-competency rule, O.C.G.A. section 43-26-9(b.1) - 30 contact hours, national certification, academic program, 500 practice hours, etc.; a CRNA current with NBCRNA certification should confirm with the Board that certification satisfies the RN-license competency.) CE providers report that APRNs authorized to prescribe hydrocodone/oxycodone must complete 1 hour biennially on proper use - confirm with the Board, as this could not be verified in Board-published rules. National track (all states): NBCRNA Continued Professional Certification (CPC), now branded MAC (Maintaining Anesthesia Certification), requires 60 Class A (MAC Ed, assessed/prior-approved CE) + 40 Class B (MAC Dev, professional development) credits per 4-year cycle, plus quarterly MAC Check knowledge checks and 2-year check-ins. Excess Class A credits may count toward Class B. A practicing CRNA must satisfy BOTH the NBCRNA program and the state license requirement above.
