Delaware Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) CE requirements

Renewal: Delaware APRN licensure and prescriptive authority renew biennially, coinciding with RN license renewal (24 Del.C. Ch. 19). The RN license expires February 28, May 31, or September 30 of odd-numbered years depending on original issuance (newly issued licenses expire September 30 of odd-numbered years); the APRN license takes the same expiration date.

Delaware APRNs renew through their RN license: each RN must earn 30 contact hours per biennium, at least 3 of which must be in substance abuse (24 DE Admin. Code 1900, section 9.2). APRN licensure and prescriptive authority are subject to biennial renewal coinciding with RN license renewal (24 Del.C. Ch. 19); renewal also requires specialty practice hours (1,500 hours over 5 years or 600 hours over 2 years in the specialty) or current national certification. Prescriptive authority renews with APRN licensure. National track (all states): NBCRNA Continued Professional Certification (CPC), now branded MAC (Maintaining Anesthesia Certification), requires 60 Class A (MAC Ed, assessed/prior-approved CE) + 40 Class B (MAC Dev, professional development) credits per 4-year cycle, plus quarterly MAC Check knowledge checks and 2-year check-ins. Excess Class A credits may count toward Class B. A practicing CRNA must satisfy BOTH the NBCRNA program and the state license requirement above.
