Details

Arizona requires NO continuing education hours for APRN renewal (totalHours 0). Instead, renewal requires demonstration of continued competence: 960 practice hours in the past 5 years (as an APRN under A.R.S. section 32-1634.04 for CRNAs), OR completion of an advanced nursing degree or board-approved refresher course in the past 5 years, plus current national certification/recertification (A.A.C. R4-19-506). APRNs holding an active DEA license must additionally complete 3 hours of opioid-related, substance use disorder-related or addiction-related CE. National track (all states): NBCRNA Continued Professional Certification (CPC), now branded MAC (Maintaining Anesthesia Certification), requires 60 Class A (MAC Ed, assessed/prior-approved CE) + 40 Class B (MAC Dev, professional development) credits per 4-year cycle, plus quarterly MAC Check knowledge checks and 2-year check-ins. Excess Class A credits may count toward Class B. A practicing CRNA must satisfy BOTH the NBCRNA program and the state license requirement above.
