Details

Pennsylvania imposes no standalone state CME hours for PAs; renewal requires holding current NCCPA certification (which itself requires 100 CME credits per 2-year cycle). Per Act 31 of 2014, all licensees must complete 2 hours of board-approved child-abuse recognition/reporting training for each renewal. Under ABC-MAP (Act 191 of 2014, §9.1(a)(2)), prescribers/dispensers must complete 2 hours in pain management, addiction identification, or opioid prescribing/dispensing — 2 hours within 12 months of initial licensure, then 2 hours per renewal cycle. Both are part of the 'total continuing education required.'
