Details

Rule 360-5-.07 (as amended May 5, 2026, effective May 25, 2026): 40 Board-approved CME hours biennially, including 10 hours in the supervising physician's specialty; PAs with prescription-drug authority need 3 hours practice-specific pharmaceuticals; hydrocodone/oxycodone authority adds 1 hour; death-certificate authority adds 1 hour. First-time renewals are exempt from the 40 hours (prescribing PAs still owe the 3 pharmaceutical hours). A Georgia Composite Medical Board newsletter stated that an NCCPA maintenance record meeting the guidelines satisfies the state requirement. Records must be kept 5 years; the Board audits a fixed percentage of renewals.
