30 hours of Board-approved CRNP continuing education every 2 years in the specialty area (49 Pa. Code 21.331), including 2 hours of Act 31 child-abuse recognition/reporting training. CRNPs with prescriptive authority: at least 16 hours of Board-approved pharmacology in the 2 years preceding renewal and 2 hours of ABC-MAP opioid education counted in the 30 total, per Board renewal materials and the pa.gov opioid-education notice. Caveat: a July 2025 final rulemaking (16A-5146, opioid prescription/education and organ donation) revised related provisions; re-verify the 16-hour pharmacology language against the current PA Code before relying on it. The Board renewal page was unreachable at pacodeandbulletin.gov (HTTP 429); official dos.pa.gov and pa.gov sources were used instead.
