Details

New Mexico imposes no standalone state CME hours for PAs; renewal requires current NCCPA certification (which itself requires 100 CME credits per 2-year cycle). PAs who hold a federal DEA registration and a NM controlled-substance registration must complete 3 CME hours biennially in pain management with controlled substances per 16.10.14 NMAC. An unrenewed license remains temporarily active until June 1 of the renewal year, then is suspended and changed to lapsed. Separately, the osteopathic board rule 16.17.9.10 NMAC calls for biennial renewal before July 1 with proof of CME on audit.
