Verified on the official Montana Board of Nursing continuing-education page: the Board no longer requires continuing education contact hours as a requirement for renewal of a nursing license. The Board repealed CE for LPN, RN, and APRN renewal effective November 18, 2023, so older sources citing 24 hours (including 12 pharmacology hours) are obsolete. Per the Board's official FAQ, all RN, LPN, and APRN licenses expire December 31 every two years (odd/even 'licensee' parity), so deadlineParity is null. To practice as an APRN in Montana the licensee must hold an active Montana APRN license and an active Montana RN license (or a multistate RN privilege); prescriptive authority carries a separate renewal with an MPDR (Montana Prescription Drug Registry) fee.
