Maine Physician Assistant (PA) CE requirements

Renewal: Per the joint PA rule (02-373 Board of Licensure in Medicine / 02-383 Board of Osteopathic Licensure, ch. 2 §3): licenses of PAs born in odd years expire at midnight on the last day of the birth month in odd years; PAs born in even years expire the last day of the birth month in even years.

Required categories

Details

Per the official joint PA rule: 100 hours of CME every 2 years, of which at least 50 hours must be Category 1 (a credit classification, not a topical sub-hour). Current NCCPA certification satisfies the general CME requirement. Additionally, 3 hours of Category 1 CME on opioid prescribing is required every 2 years. No NCCPA interplay beyond the certification-substitution clause.
