Attestation under the pains and penalties of perjury on the renewal application (244 CMR 5.05); maintain authenticated CE records for two consecutive registration periods for board request.

Verified on the official Mass.gov 244 CMR 5.00 regulation page: 15 hours of CE within the two years immediately preceding renewal of registration are required of all licensed nurses (5.02) — there is no separate APRN CE tier. Per the Board's official FY2022 newsletter, APRNs 'may have additional CE requirements to maintain certification, as well as practice hours. These are separate from the Board's requirements,' and all APRNs must maintain current certification through a Board-approved national certifying organization to keep Board authorization to practice. APRN authorization renews with the RN license (birth month, even-numbered years). New licensees are exempt from CE for their first registration period. APRN prescribers must complete the pain-management/opioid education required of all prescribers under M.G.L. c. 94C, § 18(e) — no hour count is specified in the nursing CE regulation.
