Renewal: Licenses renew biennially on the last day of the licensee's birth month; an initial license runs one year plus the months to the applicant's birth month, and CE is prorated for that shortened period.
Details
New Mexico requires 30 approved CE contact hours in the 24 months preceding renewal. 16.12.2 NMAC covers all nurses licensed in the state (RN and LPN). CE is also required at first renewal (prorated for the short initial period); CE Broker is used for tracking.
