Renewal: RN/LPN licenses renew every four years on or before April 1 (A.R.S. 32-1642); late fee if not renewed by May 1 ($50 per month for any work days in May, June, or July); license expires August 1.
Details
Arizona does not mandate a CE-hour total for LPN renewal. Continued competency is set by A.A.C. R4-19-312 (Practice Requirement): a renewal applicant must either (1) have completed a post-licensure nursing program and obtained a degree or advanced practice certificate within the past five years, or (2) have practiced nursing at the LPN level for a minimum of 960 hours in the five years before application; an applicant meeting neither must complete a Board-approved refresher or competency program.
