Code R. 338.331: 40 board-approved CE hours per 2 years; certified ODs (topical diagnostic and/or therapeutic pharmaceutical agents) must include at least 20 hrs in pharmacological management of ocular conditions (part of, not in addition to, the 40); all renewal applicants need at least 2 hrs in pain and symptom management; certified ODs must hold a valid CPR certificate (Red Cross, AHA, accredited hospital, or comparable). Cross-cutting Michigan health-profession mandates also apply: 1 hr implicit bias training per year of license cycle (in addition to CE) and one-time human trafficking identification training — confirm applicability with LARA.
