Reporting

Renew online/by mail with attestation of CE completion; the Board conducts random CE audits.

Grace period

No grace period; must renew before Dec 31 or stop practicing. Late applicants may complete deficient CE before submitting the renewal application under 12 AAC 02.965, but those make-up hours cannot be counted toward the next renewal period.

At least 24 of the 40 hours must be in ocular pathology or pharmacology. Max 3 hours of practice management per biennium. Retain CE documentation for 4 years (random Board audit). Rule: 12 AAC 48, Article 2 (Continuing Competency); Board renewal application (commerce.alaska.gov, opt4202.pdf).
