Louisiana prescribes no independent state CME hour total for PAs; each annual renewal requires confirmation of the continuing education needed to maintain current NCCPA certification (which itself requires 100 CME credits per 2-year cycle), so the 100/2 figure is indirect via the state's required certification. CDS-registered prescribers must also complete a 3-hour board-approved CDS course covering all four required subjects - per the LSBME's official page this is explicitly a 'once in a lifetime requirement under current law,' to be completed before the prescriber's first applicable renewal; conditional exemptions exist. No other mandated topical sub-hours were found in the official rule.
