Reporting
Submit proof-of-completion of CE form to the board (NRS 636.260) only after all required CE is complete; board approves providers (optometry schools, optometric associations, COPE, AMA Category 1 ophthalmology CME for NRS 636.2881 requirements)
Grace period
License is suspended if not renewed by March 1; may be relieved from suspension by renewing before July 1 with a $250 penalty plus the renewal fee; renewal received after June 30 and before January 1 incurs a $500 penalty; after January 1 the license expires and the former licensee must reapply.

Confirmed against Nev. Admin. Code 636.Sec. 8 (eff. 10/24/2022, amended 8/28/2024): non-certified licensees need at least 40 hrs per 2 years (not more than 5 hrs practice management); pharmaceutical-agent-certified (OPAC) licensees need at least 50 hrs per 2 years, of which at least 30 hrs relate to pharmaceutical agents or disease (not more than 10 hrs practice management). OPAC-certified ODs holding a Nevada controlled substances number must include at least 2 hrs on opioids/addiction/substance abuse/pain management within the 30. CE may be in-person, internet, correspondence, or videoconference (non-in-person courses require a 75% exam score); max 10 hrs per 24-hour period. NOTE: the Board's 2017 Board Policies document describes a 30-hr/12-month regime — that is superseded by the current NAC Sec. 8 (40/50 hrs per 2 years).
