Certify completion on biennial renewal application through the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs portal; board pre-approves CE sponsors (45-day lead time); retain attendance verifications for audit

Confirmed against N.J.A.C. 13:38-7.4: 50 continuing professional optometric education credits per biennial period, including 30 TPA credits for licensees certified to use therapeutic pharmaceutical agents (20 topical + 10 oral per board guidance); max 20 credits from videotape/audiotape/computer/internet/journal/correspondence courses, structured grand rounds, hands-on demonstrations, interactive workshops, lecture preparation, or published articles (max 10 of those toward the 30 TPA credits); max 10 credits practice management/managed care; max 6 credits CPR. In 2018 the NJ AG/DCA proposed requiring 1 of the 50 credits to address hydrocodone or opioids in general (njoag.gov, 10/25/2018) — adoption status not verified in the rule text reviewed.
