Verified on official Nebraska DHHS pages (nurse licensing renewal/CE and controlled-substance information). Obsolete third-party summaries citing 40 hours with 10 pharmacology hours do not reflect the current APRN-NP rule — the only state-imposed APRN-level CE is the 3-hour opiate/PDMP requirement for prescribers, which sunsets after the 2028 renewal. The underlying RN competency requirement is separate and may be satisfied through national specialty certification. Licensees licensed more than five years must also show 2,080 NP practice hours in the preceding five years.
