Submit proof of meeting the Board's CE conditions with the annual December renewal; the Board requires optometrists to use OE Tracker to log CE credits.

Resolved Sep 2026 against the official ND State Board of Optometry CE page (ndsboptometry.com). The statute (NDCC 43-13-20) delegates the hour number to the Board and states no figure; the Board's CE page confirms 40 hours per 2-year period. Historical rule was 50 hours per 3-year period (per 1999 ND Senate IBL testimony); the Board testified in 2019 for SB 2323 that it sought to move to a 2-year cycle. Newly licensed optometrists mid-cycle must accrue 20 hours for each full year after licensure. Board auto-approves courses from the ND/MN/SD/MT state optometric associations; all other courses must be COPE-approved. OE Tracker required since Jan 1, 2013.
