Reporting
Provide evidence of CE with the renewal application; maintain certificates from the previous renewal cycle for Board audit.

16 hours per two-year cycle under NDAC 20-04-01-08 (amended effective 4/1/2026): at least 2 hours ethics/jurisprudence, at least 2 hours infection control, a hands-on CPR course with a current CPR certificate at all times; no more than 8 hours self-study and no more than 1 hour practice management. Permit-specific additions: anesthesia/sedation permitholders 2 hours sedation/anesthesia, restorative permitholders 2 hours restorative dentistry, and hygienists practicing under general supervision 2 hours medical emergencies. Subject matter directly related to clinical dentistry is accepted without limit. The Board may audit; maintain certificates from the previous renewal cycle. Licenses expire December 31 of odd-numbered years.
