Confirmed per 68 Ill. Admin. Code §1320.80: 30 hrs CE each pre-renewal period; at least 12 hours must be 'certified' CE (in the same room as the presenter, offered through an approved optometry/medical/pharmacy college, with post-course evaluation). Since 4/1/2024 all other hours may be completed online (live real-time or prerecorded). Additionally, every renewal cycle requires state-mandated trainings: sexual harassment prevention (68 Ill. Admin. Code 1130.400), implicit bias awareness (1130.500), and Alzheimer's disease and other dementias (20 ILCS 2105/2105-365); controlled-substance licensees must also complete 1 hr safe-opioid-prescribing CE per IDFPR FAQ (per 720 ILCS 570/315.5). Max 4 hrs practice management; max 12 hrs teaching credit.
