Washington requires each year, per WAC 246-840-220, a minimum of 8 contact hours of continuing education and 96 hours of active nursing practice; LPNs follow the same rule as RNs, and 2 of the 8 hours must be health equity training (WAC 246-840-222). A one-time 6-hour suicide assessment, treatment, and management training is due by the end of the first full year and counts toward the 8-hour requirement.
