Licenses expire December 31 of odd-numbered years. Within 60 days after expiration, renewal requires the renewal fee, CE proof, and the $165 late fee; between 61 days and one year, the fee plus twice the late fee ($330) and skills documentation. An expired license may not be used to practice dental hygiene.Verify with board

How compliance is checked

NDCC 43-20-01.4 (License renewal – Audit) subjects renewal applications to board audit; renewals 61 days to one year past expiration may also require documentation that the individual retains the skills to practice.
