Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure rule: 100 CME hours per 2-year cycle, 50 of which must be Category I. Current NCCPA certification may be used to satisfy the requirement. PAs who prescribe controlled substances must include 5 hours related to medication prescribing with emphasis on controlled substances. The 2-year cycle began July 1, 2022 and repeats every 2 years thereafter; the license itself is renewed annually before June 30.
