Renewal: Annual renewal certificate must be secured prior to March 1 each year (KRS 320.280(1)). Annual course of study is completed each calendar year (201 KAR 5:030, Sec. 1(1)).

Certify attendance on Board-provided form submitted with renewal application; Board-approved courses/sponsors

Confirmed per 201 KAR 5:030: base 8 CE hrs/year; therapeutic-agent prescribers add at least 7 hrs ocular therapy & pharmacology (total 15); ODs credentialed for expanded therapeutic procedures add at least 5 more hrs in expanded procedures, not obtainable via internet (201 KAR 5:110 Sec. 6), for a total of 20; controlled-substance prescribers add 2 hrs on KASPER use, pain management, or addiction disorders (7.5% of CE per KRS 218A.205(3)(h)). Statute also folds in the KRS 214.610(1) course within the annual course of study. Waiver available for illness/undue hardship.
