Per 18VAC90-30-110, an APRN license lapsed within one renewal period may be reinstated by paying the current renewal fee ($80) plus the late renewal fee ($25). A license lapsed beyond one renewal period requires the reinstatement application and reinstatement fee ($150), a current Virginia RN license or multistate licensure privilege, and evidence of current competency (current professional certification, continuing-education hours from the lapsed period up to 120 hours, or current unrestricted licensure or certification in another jurisdiction). Reinstatement after suspension or revocation requires a petition to the Committee, payment of the reinstatement fee ($150), a current RN license, and competency evidence. Failure to comply with continuing-competency requirements is grounds for disciplinary action.Verify with board

18VAC90-30-105: APRNs must retain evidence of continuing-competency compliance and all supporting documentation for four years following the renewal period; the Boards periodically conduct a random audit and licensees selected must provide the evidence within 30 days of receiving the audit notice.
