Renewal: The due date for renewal is the last day of the month in which the licensee's birth date falls (Rule 1000-02-.03(1)), under the Division's biennial birth-date renewal system.
Details
Tennessee Rule 1000-02-.14 requires practical nurses to document at least two continued-competence activities per biennium; one activity option is five contact hours of continuing education applicable to practice (ten hours if not currently practicing), and the five-hour CE route is shown here. Practical nurses not practicing full-time, or inactive for extended periods, have separate compliance options under the same rule. Documentation must be retained four years and produced on Board request.
