Self-certify on renewal application; retain all CE documentation for at least 4 years; random audits — do not submit certificates unless requested

Confirmed against Nebraska DHHS Licensure Unit, Optometry renewal/CE page: 44 hrs acceptable CE earned during the preceding 24-month period; home study with testing mechanism limited to 8 hrs; practice management limited to 4 hrs; CPR initial certification hour-for-hour, recertification limited to 2 hrs. Acceptable CE: state/national meetings, formal optometry courses, college-sponsored courses. The CE requirement is waived for new licensees first credentialed within the 26 months preceding their renewal date.
