40 Category 1 hours per licensure period with 3 Category 1 hours on opioid prescribing every two years (Board of Licensure in Medicine CME guidance); the Board accepts ABMS certification/MOC as equivalent to the 40-hour requirement per its November 2025 guidance. Representative MD framing; DOs follow a separate rule (100 hours biennially, 40 osteopathic).
