Renewal: The biennial renewal period begins on the 16th day of the birth month and ends on the 15th day of the birth month two years later; the licensee must renew before expiration. Licenses issued within six months of the renewal date are not required to renew until the subsequent renewal two years later.

Iowa requires 30 CE hours biennially for OTs (15 hours for OTAs). Business-related, personal-skills, and general-health topics may total no more than 8 hours of the 30. First renewal is exempt from the CE requirement; no ordinary carryover.
