Details

Colorado requires 24 professional development activities (PDAs) each 2-year renewal period under the CPD pathway (reflective self-assessment, learning plan, relevant activities); NBCOT or CDE certification is an alternative deemed status. Audits are conducted after the renewal period; compliance documentation must be retained for two full renewal periods (NBCOT/CDE documentation at least 6 years). Falsifying CPC documentation can be grounds for discipline. The two categories above are non-additive alternative compliance pathways, not hour requirements. Alternatively, Colorado accepts two non-additive pathways instead of the 24-PDA total: (1) the continuing professional development pathway (reflective self-assessment, learning plan, relevant activities) or (2) deemed status via current NBCOT or CDE certification.
