Verified 2026-09-22: the Board's August 2023 revision of Chapter 2 (Notice of Intent ARR26-066P, wyoleg.gov) is the currently-effective rule. The Board's June 16, 2026 Notice of Intent to Adopt Amended Rules for Chapter 2 (same wyoleg.gov posting series) states the Board 'adopted changes' to Chapter 2 as its baseline and proposes amendments only to Section 3 (NCLEX attempts), leaving the continuing-competency section intact; NetCE's current Wyoming requirements page (crawled September 2026) describes the live requirement as '400 hours of active nursing practice, no additional continuing education; OR 40 hours of continuing education' every two years, matching adopted Section 14(d). Current rule - Chapter 2, Section 14(d), RN/LPN/VN: demonstrate continuing competency by completing ONE of the following in the past two years: (A) 400 hours of active nursing practice; (B) successfully pass the NCLEX; (C) a Board-accepted refresher course or the equivalent; (D) a nursing education program conferring a degree beyond basic nursing education; or (E) 40 hours of continuing education (the CE route encoded here). Deadlines: all licenses expire December 31 of the renewal year (ARR18-044P, Section 9); renewal period October 1 - December 31 of even-numbered years (ARR12-041).
