Confirmed against W. Va. Code §30-40-16 (Continuing professional education) and §30-40-17 (Term of license): every licensee completes 7 hours of continuing professional education per fiscal year (1 hour = 50 minutes of instruction), and each license is valid for the fiscal year July 1–June 30. The statute sets no category mandates, so a salesperson may satisfy all 7 hours with approved elective courses; courses and providers must be Commission-approved, and Commission-approved distance education is permitted. Inactive licensees must make up the CE that would have been required before reverting to active status; licensees continuously licensed since July 1, 1969 are exempt.
