40 hours every 2 years (34 Category 1, maximum 6 from DOPL); controlled-substance prescribers complete 3.5 hours of prescribing classes plus the 0.5-hour DOPL controlled-substance-database tutorial each renewal period; one-time 3.5-hour SBIRT training for licensing periods starting after 2024-01-01; at least 1 online suicide prevention course from the DOPL list. Renewal January 31 of even-numbered years per the DOPL renewal form.
