Renewal: Biennial renewal on Board-assigned due dates of January 31 or July 31 (odd/even windows); new licensees are assigned to the window before license issuance. A 2026–2028 transition includes prorated short renewals (e.g., the September 2026 group renews 16 months to January 2028 with 15 PDH and 1 ethics hour).

Certify compliance at renewal; subject to random Board audit.

30 PDH per two-year renewal period under the current rules (TBPELS Law and Rules handbook, effective June 18, 2026), including at least 2 PDH in ethics, professional roles/responsibilities, or the Texas Act and Rules; no carryover. CEP records retained four years. The first renewal is exempt. This supersedes the former 15-PDH-per-year structure. [Continuing education measured in PDH.]
