How compliance is checked

APRNs demonstrate continued competency for renewal through current national certification rather than CE hours. APRNs with prescriptive authority must renew prescriptive authority with the APRN license and keep 20 hours of pharmacotherapeutics CE (including 2 hours focused on controlled substances) in their personal files, producing them for the Board within 72 hours if audited; CEU documentation is not sent to the Board unless requested.
