Effective January 1, 2026, Oregon replaced practice-hour renewal requirements with continuing education. Per the OSBN renewal CE fact sheet, LPN/RN/APRN renewal applicants must complete one hour of pain management education in the prior 36 months and two hours of cultural competency education in the prior 48 months. As of January 1, 2028, CRNA (and NP) applicants holding current national certification fulfill the CE requirement, with the pain management and cultural competency requirements still applying. Note on national certification: In addition to state renewal requirements, CRNAs must maintain national certification/recertification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). The NBCRNA mandates 60 Class A credits, 40 Class B credits, Core Modules, and 850 hours of clinical practice every 4 years to maintain certification.
