Required categories

40 hours biennial total: 20 formal Category 1 (AAPA-approved) plus up to 20 informal hours. Current NCCPA Maintenance of Certification covers most formal and informal hours but does NOT cover the human trafficking prevention or opioid requirements. The human trafficking requirement is confirmed as mandated by the TMB's own PA CME chart (chart does not state hours); the 1-hour figure comes from the TMB-rule summary (UT Health San Antonio). Since Sept. 1, 2026, licensees must log CME through CE Broker.
