Verified against S.C. Code section 40-43-130 (as amended by 2017 Act H3824): each licensed pharmacist must complete 15 hours (1.5 CEU) of ACPE-accredited continuing pharmacy education or CME Category I each license year, with a minimum of 6 hours obtained through attendance at lectures, seminars, or workshops, at least 50 percent (7.5 hours) in drug therapy or patient management, and at least 1 hour related to approved procedures for monitoring controlled substances listed in Schedules II-IV; excess hours may be carried forward for one license year; the first renewal after examination or license transfer is exempt. Conditional: pharmacists administering vaccines must complete at least 1 hour of ACPE or CME Category I vaccine-administration CE per license year (LLR Protocol for Administration of Vaccines by Pharmacists, September 17, 2025); pharmacists dispensing contraceptives under the Pharmacy Access Protocol must complete at least 1 hour per year on hormonal contraception (S.C. Code section 40-43-250; LLR 2025-2026 pharmacist renewal form).
