Arizona Pharmacy CE category requirements

Verified against the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy (pharmacy.az.gov) and A.R.S. sections 32-1925, 32-3248.02, and 32-1979.03: 30 hours per two-year renewal cycle with no live-hour requirement. The 3 hours of opioid-related, substance-use-disorder-related, or addiction-related CE are required by A.R.S. section 32-3248.02 (SB1103, 2019) of a health professional authorized to prescribe Schedule II controlled substances with a valid DEA registration or authorized under Title 32 Chapter 18 to dispense controlled substances, and are included in the 30 hours. Conditional: 2 hours immunization CE for pharmacists who administer immunizations; 2 hours ACPE tobacco-cessation CE on license renewal for pharmacists who prescribe and dispense tobacco-cessation drug therapies (A.R.S. section 32-1979.03); 3 hours self-administered hormonal-contraceptive CE for dispensers. Renewal is due November 1 every two years under A.R.S. section 32-1925, with the two-year cycle assigned to the individual licensee (odd or even years). A pharmacist is exempt from CE between initial licensure and first renewal.
