Board wording: Licenses renew annually on or before December 31 each year (G.S. 90-155); CE is earned per calendar year. The Board emails renewal instructions on or before December 1. A license that is not renewed is placed on inactive status on January 30 of the following year (21 NCAC 10 .0204(c)).

Licenses not renewed by December 31 may be renewed until the license is placed on inactive status on January 30 of the following year; a $25 reinstatement fee applies (G.S. 90-155; 21 NCAC 10 .0204(c), (j)). Hardship waivers of CE must be requested in writing by December 15.
Reporting
CE is reported through the Board's CE Broker portal (linked from the Board website); the Board does not award credit until the sponsor or licentiate submits the certificate of attendance or course completion.
