Grace period
A license not renewed within 60 days after expiration lapses; it may be restored within that 60-day window on payment of the renewal fee plus a late renewal penalty.

30 clock hours of CE per renewal cycle. The 3 ethics hours must be presented by a social worker who graduated from an accredited school of social work or by a professional with knowledge of ethics as it relates to social work practice. No more than 15 hours may be self-study programs; the board waived this limit for the 2024 and 2025 renewal cycles (per CE-provider summary of the board's announcement).
